Spotlight On: Drew Koria, Business Development Executive

Updated: Jan 30, 2023

Each month we like to bring you a 'Spotlight On' story about a member of our team. This month it's the turn of Business Development Executive, Drew.

What do you do/job role at Venture 1?

I am a Business Development Executive.

What attracted you to working at Venture 1?

Having previously worked for a supplier to Venture 1, I had the good fortune to cultivate a strong working relationship with the Sales & Marketing Team over about a year and half. In September I was presented with a generous opportunity to work with the Venture 1 team directly in a sales capacity, which I took great pleasure in accepting. The decision was an easy one to make as the company are champions of the ethics and values I deeply care for in an employer: Honesty, Excellence & Enjoyment!

What sort of things do you do day-to-day at Venture?

Never have I had a dull day working for Venture 1! My activities include everything from making outbound calls to sales prospects, writing proposals, seeking out relevant tenders, and building and maintaining relationships with our partners. I also work very closely with the Marketing Team to ensure we are aligned in vision/outcomes and prepared for Service/Technology led campaigns.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Venture 1?

Because of the Pandemic I spent the last two years working from home, so I really enjoy coming into our funky new offices in Central London. Having that in-person camaraderie strengthens bonds with colleagues and really makes you feel part of a team that can be rallied to boost creativity and productivity. All in all, my favorite thing at Venture 1 is the team itself. They genuinely strive to be the best at what they do whilst also being jolly nice people while doing it!

If you could invite any 3 people round for dinner who would it be?

So many interesting people to want to have dinner with! However, off the top of my head

  1. Joe Rogan - Exceptional Podcaster and pretty much the generational voice for men

  2. Roald Dahl - British novelist, short-story writer, poet, screenwriter, and wartime fighter pilot! I'm sure he has some interesting tales to tell.

  3. Jeremy Clarkson - Motoring broadcaster who I find quite amusing!

Thanks to Drew for his answers - it's great to hear that he's enjoying working with us so much!
