Spotlight On: Phillip Lotter, Consultant

Continuing on with our monthly 'Spotlight On' story about a member of our team. This month it's the turn of Consultant, Phillip.

What do you do at Venture 1?

I am a consultant focusing on the Microsoft workstation and server stacks. I enjoy solving complex problems and fixing them using SCCM which I think is such a great and powerful toolset even in todays age of modern and remote working.

What attracted you to working at Venture 1?

It was actually my first interview after emigrating from South Africa. I got the job and the rest as they say is history!

What sort of things do you do day to day at Venture 1? Like most industries, it got a bit quiet during the pandemic but it is nice and busy again. Most days involves working with different clients really. Dealing with various challenges, planning, designing and solving problems is the order of the day.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Venture 1? Most of my IT career I have been dedicated to one client and outsourcing contract at a time. Being a consultant at V1C you get to deal with a variety of clients. This means a lot of change and that no two days are the same at work which I love.

What is your view on current trends and the next big thing in the IT world? Everyone has heard this one to much one can argue, but working from anywhere (or home 😊). The pandemic has really shifted work patterns and IT needs to empower that. With that comes all the security, connectivity, data, etc. challenges that we are ready to help solve.

If you could invite any 3 people round for dinner who would it be? Tony Stark (actually just the suit will be fine as well 😊), Bruce Springsteen and Desmond Tutu.
