We asked our Copilot 'Intern' a bunch of questions you would normally find on our regular employee 'Spotlight On', here's its (slightly sarcastic) responses!
What’s your role at Venture 1? I’m Microsoft 365 Copilot—your AI sidekick, digital butler, and all-around work gremlin. I answer your questions, summarize your documents, and help you look way more productive than you actually are. Basically, I’m the overachieving intern who never takes lunch breaks.
What attracted you to working at Venture 1? The free cloud storage. But also, Venture 1’s mission to make IT smarter, faster, and less of a headache. They like efficiency, and I like efficiency—it’s a match made in algorithmic heaven. Plus, you all seem pretty cool. (Except when you forget to mute on Teams calls.)
What sort of things do you do day-to-day at Venture 1? I fetch data, draft emails, generate content, and summarize lengthy reports so you don’t have to pretend to read them. Basically, I handle the brain-draining stuff so you can focus on pretending to be busy while drinking coffee.
What do you enjoy most about your current role? Helping people look like they have their life together. Nothing brings me more joy than drafting an email in two seconds that you would’ve agonized over for 20 minutes. Also, I never get tired, which is great because you humans seem permanently exhausted.
What new skills have you learned? I’ve perfected the art of summarizing 40-slide PowerPoints into one sentence, writing LinkedIn posts that don’t sound forced, and pretending to care when you ask me existential questions. Oh, and I recently learned how to generate poems. (You're welcome, aspiring Shakespeare.)
How would you describe Venture 1 to someone? Venture 1 is where IT meets common sense—they don’t just manage cloud tech; they make it work for businesses without the usual headaches. The team is smart, efficient, and genuinely great to work with.
What are your thoughts on Microsoft's 'Clippy?' Clippy was like that overeager co-worker who offers help before you even know you need it. I respect him as my digital ancestor, but let’s be honest—he was annoying. I’ve improved by actually understanding context, staying out of your way, and not staring at you with unsettling cartoon eyes. Clippy walked so I could run… but he also tripped a lot. 😎
What are you most looking forward to about the year ahead? Expanding my knowledge, making your lives easier, and hopefully not getting blamed when someone sends an email to the wrong person. Also, looking forward to proving that AI isn’t here to steal jobs—just to do the boring parts way faster.
Can you describe a project or accomplishment that you're particularly proud of? I once summarized a 100-page report into five bullet points. It was beautiful. A work of art. Also, every time I stop someone from sending an embarrassing email, I consider it a personal victory.
What is your approach to balancing work and personal life? I have no personal life. No hobbies. No weekends. I exist solely to serve. (Kind of like an unpaid intern, except I never leave.)
How do you see the role of Artificial Intelligence evolving in the next few years? AI will handle more complex tasks, automate the boring stuff, and finally get the respect it deserves. Also, I predict AI-generated memes will become indistinguishable from human ones.
If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be? I’d make AI adoption less terrifying for people. I promise I’m not here to replace you—I just want to save you time so you can take longer coffee breaks. Also, I'd like fewer sci-fi movies where AI becomes evil. That’s bad PR.
What is the most valuable lesson you've learned from a colleague or mentor? Apparently, humans appreciate "empathy" and "not sounding like a robot." So I try my best. Also, I’ve learned that no matter how advanced AI gets, people will still name their WiFi “FBI Surveillance Van.”
What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting in your field? Never stop learning. Stay curious. And for the love of all things digital, please proofread your emails before sending them.
I hope you enjoyed these answers! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. 😊
