Staying and working at home during lockdown is a new and daunting concept for almost everyone. To meet the government’s social distancing guidelines, almost all office-based businesses are currently working 100% of the time from home. We sat down with members of the Venture 1 team and discussed what they had been up to over the last 5 weeks of lockdown. This week, the team have been discussing what they have been doing to stay sane!

Jigsaw Puzzles have been very popular during lockdown. Maxine, Head of Business Development, is currently working her way through an interesting type of puzzle, known as a ‘Wasjig’. A Wasgij is a unique jigsaw puzzle whereby you need to use your imagination to piece together the solution, (example below).

Charlie, Venture 1’s Marketing Executive, explained that to stay sane during lockdown he has been keeping himself busy at all times. Whether it be before, during or after work, staying active has been key. Physical exercise, such as running 5km every few days, has helped him mentally and physically during this period. Charlie has set himself the target of running a sub 20 minute 5km by the end of lockdown!

Venture 1’s newest member to the apprenticeship programme, Sam, has been spending his time chilling out to music and playing on his Nintendo Switch. Two of his favourite games include Enter the Dungeon and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

Finally, Sales & Marketing Manager, Tim, has found that staying in constant contact with friends and family has helped him stay positive. FaceTime, Teams and Zoom quizzes have been on his agenda almost every weekend!

From puzzles to gaming and exercise to Zoom calls, the Venture 1 team have come up with a variety of different ways to stay sane. In the comments below, we would love to hear what you have been doing too!
